​​The Name
The name "Spooney's" is a nod to the practice of teaspooning whisky, a small amount (approximate teaspoon) of another whisky is added to prevent it from being bottled as a single malt or being identified as the given name of the distillery. The 1:49th represents the blend ratio and a geographical reference—the 49th parallel, the border between Canada and the USA, the dividing line that separates us.

The Blend
This unique whisky is composed of two carefully chosen casks, each contributing its distinct character:
98% of the blend comes from a Macaloney’s mix of malted and unmalted barley, aged in an ex-rye bourbon barrel. 2% is a column-distilled rye from North West Pure Distillery, aged in a Kentucky bourbon barrel for three years then resting in a once-used Brazilian Amburana barrel with a medium toast, and then spending four final months in a Jamaican rum barrel.
